When Jenny and I decided to celebrate Fat Tuesday, there was little decision about where we would go to eat. We have watched with some degree of fascination the transformation of the space that formerly housed Taggart's as one might watch the transformation of a catepillar to a butterfly.
As a result, we were more than willing to brave the fog and rain to make the trip to Troy to experience The Caroline. We were not disappointed! The decor and the menu were both pleasant surprises. The interior space is well-designed. The separation of the bar from the main dining area is done in a way that provides privacy for bar patrons that seems natural and unobtrusive. Food quality and preparation were outstanding.
The only thing remaining that would make your restaurant perfect is if it were located in Sidney! Thanks for a great dining experience. Jenny and I will be back to eat often. With every good wish for continued success.

My husband and I visited "The Caroline" four different times from their opening until late August 2008. On two of those occasions we also had our son, his fiance, and her parents with us. We've ordered and/or tasted many of the offerings from The Caroline's menu. We have our favorites, but have been pleased with all dinners. The pace of service is relaxed; so enjoy your dinner companion, sip slowly on another glass of wine, and anticipate good food. If problems, speak to wait staff and/or owners because the Smiths want to make their restaurant successful. We, also, scheduled our son's September wedding rehearsal dinner at "The Caroline" and were most pleased with our reception, dinners, and service. Troy area residents, relax and appreciate what you've got -- THE CAROLINE! Remember you could have an empty downtown building and/or another fast-food restaurant.

It's about time that someone has had the vision to bring a big city flare to the smaller towns! The Caroline offers a variety of great dishes accompanied by a vast selection of import wines and brews. They also conduct beer and wine tastings once per month!! Very friendly staff... You're not there for "fast" food people! You are there for quality and service! A MUST do venue!
